IMMF
"IMMF" stands for "Information Management Maturity Framework". It is an information management (IM) tool developed by the Australian Government for Divisions of General Practice.
The IMMF enables Divisions to benchmark their current IM "maturity" (development status), identify "gaps", apply "tools" (education/training modules) to address these gaps and improve their IM maturity. For an overview of the IMMF, click here.
The IMMF process can be divided into 4 stages:
1. Checklist (click here)
A sample of 4-6 Division staff complete a self-administered questionnaire (46 questions) designed to assess various “elements” of the Division’s IM practice. Using an Excel spreadsheet (click here), their answers are automatically scored to produce a chart that reflects the Division’s current IM “maturity” levels for each element.
2. Gap Analysis (click here)
The staff review the chart, finalise the element maturity levels by consensus, and make suggestions how each maturity element could be improved.
3. Toolkit
The staff review the IMMF “tools” and decide which tools could be used to improve the maturity of the elements identified in the Gap Analysis.
