Regarding nursing practice, including the Nursing Code of Practice and other essential information such as standards, guidelines, policies and position statements are available to download from the Nurses Board of WA website under Publications.  Laws governing Nursing Practice such as the Poisons Act; and National Competency Standards for nurses are also available under Laws, Codes and Competencies.  All nurses are encouraged to become familiar with the information given in these important publications.

The Competency Standards for nurses in general practice is now available on the Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) website.

Professional Development

The Australian & Midwifery Council (ANMC) produces several publications including national standards, professional assessment and codes of ethics and conduct. This site provides an overview of the various ‘National Competency Standards’ for Registered and Enrolled Nurses and ‘Code of Ethics’ and the costs for ordering them.
